The Age of Steel

The Cybermen return! The Cybermen last appeared in the seventh doctor story The Silver Nemesis.  Anyway, what you missed...The Doctor, Rose and Mickey end up in a parallel Earth where Cybermen have started to run amuck and start to upgrade humanity.  The Tardis Team manage to work their way into the Cyber factory and discover that John Lumic, creator of these Cybermen has been upgraded to Cyber Controller.  Mickey and his new friend Jake free all of the prisoners that haven't been converted and eventually helps the Doctor defeat the Cybermen.  YAY!  The Doctor and Rose are ready to go home, but Mickey decides to stay on the parallel Earth to stop other Cybermen across the parallel world.  Rose is heartbroken but understands why Mickey wants to stay and not just be the tin dog.  The Tardis came to the parallel world with three passengers, but left with only two.
But  *SPOILERS* we'll be seeing the Cybermen again very soon.

This was a great episode with a classic villain that's almost as old as the dreaded Daleks.

Hi Whovians.  Sorry we haven't posted in a while.  We've been very busy keeping up with all the lastest who news.  We hope to see you soon.

New Earth

The Doctor (now David Tennant!) and Rose arrive on New Earth, in the 15th New York. Humans had relocated to this Earth-like planet after the sun had expanded, as we saw in The End of the World. That isn't all that's new. The Doctor takes interest in a hospital (run by the cat sisterhood, who inhabited New Earth previous to the humans) and decides to take a look around, but what he doesn't know is, Cassandra is back, and in need of a body. Rose is kidnapped by Cassandra and her assistant, Chip, and is taken to the basement of the hospital, where Cassandra has been spying on the nurses, and knows there up to something, and need Rose's body to find out. So, 'Rose' returns to the Doctor and they find 'intensive care'   where it turns out that the nurses have been infecting specially bred humans with every disease in the world, in order to have their many cures. Cassandra corners the nurses in intensive care, and demands for money as compensation for not telling the rest of New Earth. The nurses obviously refuse, so Cassandra opens every capsule in intensive care, and we have a huge zombie procession out into the hospital, where all horror breaks loose. Of course, the Doctor saves the day by curing all the zombies, but there is still the matter of Cassandra refusing to get out of Rose's body. Cassandra finally takes Chip's body, but he only has a half life, so when Cassandra takes his body, he is dying. Cassandra actually accepts this, so she goes back in time to see herself when she was actually human once more.

I love this episode, it has some great classic Doctor Who moments, and David Tennant is great.

The Christmas Invasion

So, the season begins with a brand new Doctor.  Will The tenth Doctor be as good as the ninth?  Let's find out!  So, when we last saw our time travelling hero, he just defeated the Daleks and saved Rose from being destroyed by the time vortex, but at a cost.  He had to regenerate.  All his cells changed.  He was a brand new man!  This new Doctor has returned to the Powell Estate on Christmas Day 2006 (A year ahead because the Doctor took Rose forward one year (Aliens of London)).  The Doctor meets Jackie and Mickey but passes out directly in front of them.  Meanwhile Earth is being invaded by an alien race called The Sycorax.  The Tardis, along with an unconscious Doctor, Rose Mickey and old friend Harriet Jones end up being teleported on to the alien ship to try to defend Earth but they weren't very good at it.  One third of the Earths population is standing on  the edge of any tall building, when suddenly the Doctor wakes up, thanks to some of Jackie's tea, and starts a sword fight with the Sycorax leader.  After some intense fighting, the Doctor loses his hand!  But thankfully, because the Doctor is still in the 15 hour regeneration cycle, he can grow a new hand.  Then when the Doctor spares the life of the leader, the Sycorax attacks him from behind.  We find out that the new Doctor isn't a second chance kind of guy.  The Sycorax ship is sent back into space, but (SPOILERS) the mysterious Torchwood shot it down. What does is mean for the Doctor and Rose's future.  I guess we'll have to wait for a future episode to find out!  The new Doctor is glad that Rose still wants to travel with him even though he changed into a completely different man.  The Doctor and his friends celebrate christmas at the Powell Estate and the The Doctor and Rose set off on more adventures through time and space.

So, is the tenth Doc as good as the ninth?  You bet!

The Parting of the Ways

The Dastardly Daleks are back!  The Parting of the Ways is the second part of Bad Wolf, which we unfortunately didn't review.  So, here's what you missed.  The Doctor, Rose and Captain Jack were zapped out of the Tardis and were taken back to satellite 5, now called The Game Station.  Anyway, The Doctor and Jack escaped, but Rose was teleported to a Dalek ship.
The Doctor flies into the Dalek ship and recues Rose. But, discovers that the reason that the Daleks survived, was because The Emperor Dalek made them out of humans.  The Doctor transports back to The Game Station and sends Rose back home to the Powell Estate.  Meanwhile, Jack recruits people to fight the Daleks as they invade the Game Station, led by the Emperor.  The Doctor's weapon that will destroy the Daleks will also destroy the Earth, The Doctor has to decide what to do.  The fight begins, as most people die and some fight, The Doctor must make his choice.  Back on Earth, Rose realises that Bad Wolf is link between the Doctor and Rose.  Rose tries to get the heart of the Tardis, and after many tries, she finally does.  Thousands of years in the future, Captain Jack is killed by three Daleks as they work their way up to the top of the Game Station.  The Dalek fleet descends to Earth and melts away the Continents one by one.  The Daleks reach floor five hundred, where the Doctor is making his weapon.  It is finally ready, but the Doctor can't bring himself to destroy the Human Race.  When all hope seems lost, Rose appears in the Tardis, but is possessed by the Time Vortex.  Rose takes the words 'Bad Wolf' and scatters them through time and space as a message to lead herself to the Doctor.  Rose brings Captain Jack back to life and turns the Dalek to dust.  The Doctor then kisses Rose and absorbs the energy and returns to the Tardis, without Jack.  Then another surprise of EPIC proportions.  The Doctor shouldn't have absorbed the energy, and he starts to REGENERATE!  Rose looks stunned and is SO confused as The Doctor becomes a completely different man!

Boom Town

The Slitheen are back! The ninth Doctor, Mickey, Jack and Rose land in 21st century Cardiff to refuel the TARDIS and encounter an old enemy, the Slitheen family! The adventure scenes are very well done, with Mickey’s character being awe-struck with what he encounters and the things that he has to do. There is some classic doctor who comedy stuck in there, which makes a great doctor who episode. One of the members of the Slitheen family, Margaret, is planning an escape route out of earth, but it will result in the destruction of the planet! Taking Margaret Home will result in her execution and the TARDIS team face some moral issues along the way. Rose and Mickey go out for a romantic night, While the Doctor takes Margaret out as a last request of hers. Margaret begs for mercy, as a public execution is a slow death. All goes wrong when the rift starts to open again, due to the extrapolator (a device Margaret got her hands on) feeding off the TARDIS engine, and the whole of Cardiff will disappear! This was all Margaret's plan, of course, and now Earth is in danger of being destroyed again. what Margaret doesn't know is that she has looked into the TARDIS' heart, and it turns her back into an egg so she can start out with a new family.

You will love this if you like the more dramatic episodes of Doctor Who.

The Doctor Dances

So, The Doctor is stuck in a room full of Gas Mask Zombies, in the middle of a German air raid in  1941. How Does he escape?  New friend Captain Jack Harkness uses his squareness gun.  That's What!
This episode was the second part to "The Empty Child".  Anyway Nano-genes are going to turn the entire world into Gas Mask Zombies before The Beatles! THE HORROR!!! The Doctor then saves the day and for once, everybody lives!
Anyway, I thought that this was quite a good episode, but it wasn't my favourite.  So on with the review. I thought that this was a VERY scary episode compared to the others.  This was also Steven Moffat's first episode in New Who.
