The Shakespeare Code

The doctor takes Martha Jones on her first trip in the tardis. They land in London 1599 and go see Shakespeare. All goes according to plan until people start mysteriously dying. It isn't long until the doctor thinks that the witch-like carrionites are behind it all.  Along with William Shakespeare and Martha, the doctor discovers that a play called loves labours won has the power of words that can open a portal to bring back all the carrionites so that they cam return from the darkness. But Shakespeare is the master of words and traps the carrionites in their globe.

All in all, this was a great story that had a famous person in it. Much like the unquiet dead (Charles Dickens) and tooth and claw (Queen Victoria)

Next Companion Name

This post contains spoilers, so if you don't want to read, move along to our other posts.

The BBC have revealed that Amy Pond and Rory Williams will leave the show after episode 5 of season 7.  A few months ago it was also announced that actress Jenna-Louise Coleman will be replacing Karen Gillan.  About a week ago it was revealed that the new companions name will be Clara.  Their are lots of rumours going around about who she might be.  Some people say she will be the daughter of Rose and the duplicate Doctor, some say she might be the granddaughter of Ian and Barbera Chestersan and some say she will just be someone brand new.  I guess we'll have to wait until Christmas Day 2012 to find out.

Here's a pic of Jenna-Louise Coleman!

Smith and Jones

Well, well well! We arrive at Martha Jones' (Freema Agyeman) first appearance on Doctor Who! Unless you don't count her cameo in the "Army of Ghosts" as a Torchwood worker (meant to be Martha's cousin, Adeola). We have a traditional inter-planet episode, where the Judoon are searching for a Florence (they can't look for her on Earth, so they transport the hospital she is in, where Martha works, to the moon) , who we later find out is posing in human form as Florence Finnigan, to execute her, just chucking in there that they're like "the police force of the universe". Trouble breaks out because the plasmavore is sucking up human blood, so she appears human to the Judoon, and the Doctor is the only other non human life form in the transported hospital. Florence ends up drinking the Doctor's blood, and the Judoon manage to catch her, but the Doctor has been drained of blood, so he is dead. But before the Judoon execute Florence, she has altered the MRI scanner so it will destroy all life on the moon. The Judoon evacuate the moon, leaving all the humans helpless and running out of air. Martha performs mouth to mouth on the Doctor, and he saves the day, and Martha returns to Earth with all her Earthy family troubles. Obviously, the Doctor asks Martha if she would like to come with him, after showing her that it can travel in time. He is offering only one trip, as he does not want Martha to replace Rose (sad face), and declares that he prefers to travel alone. This is the traditional "get a new companion episode" but it was rather enjoyable.
